This week’s YouTuber interview is a bit different for a couple of reasons… Firstly, we are introducing a brand new YouTuber who has only just launched his channel in the last few months. Secondly, it’s a face you may recognize from something else…

This week we meet Britain’s Got Talent 2013 star, Philip Green, .

Philip wowed the judges with his impressions of the likes of Stacey Solomon and Natalie Cassidy, and made it right through to the live stages. Now, he’s turning his attentions to the world of YouTube and has set up his own channel called The Philip Green Show to entertain us all with his hilarious impressions, parodies, songs and challenges.

Already he has uploaded impressions and parodies of the likes of Amy Childs, Family Guy and one of our favourite YouTubers Miranda Sings along with a couple of classic YouTube challenges.

We caught up with Philip to discuss his time on BGT, why he’s decided to enter the world of YouTube and what people can expect from his new channel, so read on to hear more from the lovely Philip…

Hello Philip! Introduce Yourself.

Hello! I’m Philip Green, probably best know for my crazy personality and impressions on Britain’s Got Talent 2013! I love making people laugh, and have begun taking the undulations and wild roads of YOUTUBE! (Woo!) I create kooky content including parodies, impressions, sketches, challenges, vlogs and tutorials. So join me as I answer the imediamonkey questions and see what makes my lemons hick!

A majority of people will know you from your appearance on Britain’s Got Talent. How would you say your life has changed since going on the show?

Being part of Britain’s Got Talent was a complete rollercoaster of Pokémon-like emotions! One minute you feel like a jolly old fella then the next your down with the tyre trash. Life after the show is slow, however, I am extremely grateful to be given the crazy opportunity to be on LIVE TV! I have been doing many charity gigs all over the country, but I am really hoping to get back on the telly as that is my career dream!

Have you been working on any new projects off the back of Britain’s Got Talent?

I have not stopped dabbling my toes in many projects rather like trying a selection of pies! I have been doing a lot of charity gig’s with fellow Britain’s Got Talent stars MEATDIVA! I’ve been pushing and pestering people to give me a chance to pursue my career in TV and on YouTube (come on people)! I would love to present and have my own show which is really out of the box and has a mix of impressions, interviews, challenges, games, EVERYTHING!

You’ve now started a YouTube channel, what made you decide to do that?

I’ve been a fan of YouTube from the days of the sneezing panda! I never had anything to put up on there and its almost like Britain’s Got Talent gave me the chance to explode with creative content! YouTube is the best place to put out new footage to see how people respond, but the best thing, is feeling the proud moment when you hit upload and that’s your creation… on the internet… FOREVER!

What sort of content will be featured on your channel?

At the moment, I have uploaded sketch, parody and impression video’s! I recently did the Cinnamon Challenge and nearly died! But, in the future I’m hoping to really grow the channel so it features blogs, collaborations, interviews, tutorials, more impression & parodies.

How are you finding the process of shooting, editing, uploading and promoting yourself?

I am an editing novice, as only recently did an iMac find its way into my room and set up home! I have really enjoyed learning and still carry on to learn how to edit in different ways. Shooting has been fabulous, I shot with a great guy and film maker called Eddie Garcia down in Brighton! We are looking to get together again to film some more footage, but recently I have been shooting videos on my phone because I am yet to by a kick-ass camera. As for uploading… I haven’t looked at a screen for such a long time, but recently got introduced to Wondershare when I compress the files, rather like a little old lady pressing the flower of a freshly picked tulip. Self promotion has proved difficult, but I guess your channel grows the more content there is on it :D!

Any hints about what you have coming up on your channel?

This Halloween I have got quite a spooky video which is going to be ready to share & scare! Not tear and share though, thats a tasty breaded snack! As well as that, I am planning on uploading more challenges, parodies and hopefully a Christmas Special!

What are your favourite impressions to do?

My favourite impressions to do are defiantly the women! I love Lois Griffin from Family Guy! I also enjoy to dramatise some celebrities such as Amy Childs and Stacey Solomon. I’m always expanding my vocabulary of delicious impressions and hopefully they will be ready soon!

Any new ones your working on?

I’m working on many of The Simpsons characters, Kirstie Allsopp from Location Location Location and Coronation Street favourites including the very original… GAIL PLATT! #ET

Looking at some of your videos, you’ve filmed in public, which must have resulted in some very funny looks from people? Do you get embarrassed?

You are more than right! Being on the beach dressed as a hip-hop granny has to be one of the funniest things I have done in a long time! The amount of people that gave me a look was ridiculous but its great! all for the name of YouTube, if it gets a thumbs up, I’ll do anything (appropriate)! FUN FACT: Natalie Cassidy spoof was filmed at 4am!

How about ones you would love to be able to do but can’t seem to master?

I cant seem to do male impressions very well, apart from Louie Spence. I naturally have a high nasally voice, I would LOVE to do Simon Cowell and Jo Brand!

You are quite a big fan of other YouTube Personalities aren’t you, who are your faves?

I LOVE the personalities of YouTube! I cant get enough of Daily Grace, Mamrie Hart, Hannah Hart, GloZell, Miranda Sings but I always discover new people and add them to my subscription list and its growing fast!

Who would you love to collaborate with?

I love meeting new people, and literally want to collaborate with as many people as I can! i would love to go over to america one day…(I’ve never been on a plane) and collaborate with Daily Grace, Mamrie Hart and Hannah Hart, and make it an awesome foursome. I would have to practice my puns as they are queens of pun land!

There are several big youtube conventions and get togethers both here and abroad, are you hoping to take part on them?

I would love to become apart of the YouTube family and grow on the internet! If there is a ticket I AM THERE!

What are your hopes for your YouTube Channel going forward?

I really hope that my YouTube channel grows. I’m uploading every Friday at the moment, and if things go well, I am looking at uploading more frequently. What is proving difficult is working on such a low budget but i am hoping that sometime I will get money to help towards the creations of new videos.

Can you do any impressions of YouTubers?

I have had i crack at quite a few! Miranda Sings has been a very fun one to do and is currently uploaded onto my page! I’m working on Mamrie Hart with her “TERRRRIBLE PUNS” and crazy eyes. It would be great to collaborate and sing in a Miranda music video :)!

Are you hoping that YouTube can lead on to more TV work?

YES, YES, YES! I really hope it does! I’ve always dreamt of being on TV and I will not stop till I am once again back on there! YouTube is a great way of getting you discovered and making people laugh is the best thing in the world. Its only a matter of time… I will not give up!
